Taking it Back for Valentine's Day: a Stylish Retro Wedding in a Chic Warehouse Setting

at The Riverside in Detroit, MI

For Valentine's Day this year, I wanted to highlight a really special wedding we hosted in 2023. C+R were an amazing couple to work with. Both the bride and groom are heavily involved in the photography scene in Detroit and they combined their artistic style with the industrial chic features at The Riverside for a truly elegant and romantic wedding venue.

Ceremony seating for 60 on our indoor/outdoor patio.

Take a closer look below to see the elements that went into this beautiful ceremony and reception.

Vintage Sweetheart Wedding Cake

The perfect cake for two! Accompanied by a red rose floral arrangement put together by the bride.

Thrifted Glassware Table

Over several months leading up to the wedding, the bride scoured local thrift stores to find unique glasses that she displayed by the bar. Each guest grabbed a glass to use for the night and took it home with them as a hand-picked thank you gift from the couple.

Simple, yet Elegant Table Decor

Thrifted white candles and red roses.

Disco Moments

A disco ball paired with colorful uplighting and vinyl records. The crowd was on the dancefloor all night!

From Start to Finish

It was so great getting to know C in the year leading up to her wedding. Even though we were just the venue, I felt like I was part of her wedding journey and I was honored to be included so much along the way. She had thought of every last detail for this wedding and it was amazing to see it all come together. One of my favorite things about hosting weddings in my venues is getting to know the couples, hearing their wishes and vision, and doing whatever we can to help them pull that off. Thank you C+R for choosing an Eventus Venue for your big day!
